Airforce Beach: Needs NE, E, SE Swell. NW, W, SW wind. Best size 3 – 5ft and is usually best on mid-low tide. Typical beach break, very dependent on sand banks can get pretty hollow... Click here for images
Main Beach: E, SE swell. W, SW, S wind. Best size 2 – 6ft. Best on Low – mid tide (incoming) or suckups best on high tide from 2-3ft. Hollow, fast and powerful on the lower tides, Slow and weaker on high tide (Better suited to mals on high tide)... Click here for images
Sharkies: E, SE swell. W, SW, S wind (surfable in SE wind). Best size 2 – 5ft. Best on a mid to low tide (incoming or outgoing). Fast and hollow wave on the lower tide, best suited to shortboard. Dangerous takeoff over semi exposed rocks. Very dangerous beach in large surf!! ... Click here for images
Joggly Point: NE, E, SE swell. SW, S wind. Best size 2-8ft. Again it is best on mid to low tide and is very dependent on sand. Fast and powerful when smaller, when large it is slow and fat... Click here for images
Half Tide: NE, E, SE swell. W, SW, S wind. Best size 3-5ft. Best on mid to low tide and is very dependent on sand. Hollow and fast take off close to large exposed rock, then fattens out into a long slow wall. Takeoff can be quite intimidating... Click here for images
Chinamens: S, SE, E swell. W, NW wind. Best from 2 – 5ft. Best tide is dependent on sand banks, usually best around mid tide. As with Airforce it is a typical beach break and the wave is very dependent on sand banks... Click here for images
Snapper: E, NE swell. W, SW, S wind. Best from 2 – 6ft. Mid to low tide. Slow and generally fat wave, lacking in power. Best for mals... Click here for images
As an overview all waves in Evans are very sand dependent. Main beach has the most consistent break and can handle a wide variety of conditions.
